Having grown up in South Africa surrounded by palaeontology and nature, I gravitate towards these themes as a source of inspiration.
The impressions that leaves make is endlessly fascinating to me and I push the boundaries of the medium to make something as simple as a leaf interesting and exciting.
I spend a large portion of my time in nature to collect materials and ideas, so much so that the ritual is part of my process. However, these days I collect leaves mainly from botanical gardens through contacts. Most are exotic or rare and very special.
